What is MICA?
The Mineral Industry Consultants Association (MICA) represents professional mineral industry consultants based in Australia and New Zealand.
The objectives of the Association are:
- To assist those who need expert, reliable and unbiased advice on some aspect of mineral exploration, mining, mineral processing or related activities, to find the most suitable consultant for their work.
- To protect its members from the actions of persons or organisations that might erode its standard of professional conduct.
- To maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date register of members and the fields of expertise, in which they are accredited.
- To act for its members in matters of common concern.
- To promote the interest of its members by maintaining and enhancing their public image.
The Association cannot certify the competence of individual members to carry out specific consulting commissions. All members are bound by the Code of Ethics and the Code for Consultants which set the rules of behaviour for professional relationships and requires them to actively maintain their professional development.
